Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker told a crowd at the annual meeting of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) that he was qualified to take on ISIS because he fought unions in his home state claiming “If I can take on a 100,000 protesters, I can do the same across the world.” Since when is dealing with unarmed and law abiding protesters in America akin to fighting an army of fanatical militants – now sporting US military equipment – in the Middle East? The comparison between American workers protesting for their rights and a terrorist group that brutally murders and enslaves people was met with disgust and scorn even on the right.
